1.Project Overview
Located in Houston, USA, GIGA ENERGY is a leading manufacturer of pad-mounted transformers primarily utilized in AI data center infrastructure projects. To meet the client's demanding requirements for full factory testing, Nanke Electric custom-designed and manufactured a Containerized Transformer Test System. By integrating the entire testing station into a standard container, this modular solution enables rapid onsite deployment and delivers turnkey, comprehensive factory routine and design testing for pad-mounted transformers.
2.Maximum Testing Capacity
Engineered to comply with international and North American power grid standards (IEEE/ANSI), the system features the following maximum testing capabilities:
- 35kV, up to 5000kVA
- 25kV, up to 5000kVA
- 15kV, up to 5000kVA
- 4.16kV, up to 2000kVA
- Low-voltage side: 0.2kV ~ 1.14kV
- Impedance voltage range: 3.5% ~ 8%
3.Test Items
(1)Transformer no-load loss and no-load current measurement;
(2)Transformer no-load current percentage calculation;
(3)Transformer load loss measurement and conversion according to the standard temperature (100% current);
(4)Transformer short-circuit impedance measurement and standard temperature conversion;
(5)Transformer induction and voltage withstand test;
(6)Transformer power frequency withstand voltage test;
(7)Transformer lightning impulse test;
(8)Transformer temperature-rise test;
4.Project Highlights
(1)Turnkey Containerized Integration:
The entire system integrates core equipment such as low-voltage switchgear, variable frequency drive (VFD) power supply, intermediate transformer, compensation capacitor banks, and measurement units inside the container cabin body. Shipped as a complete machine assembly to the Houston facility in the USA, it allows for rapid onsite deployment and production, eliminating heavy civil construction costs of conventional testing laboratories and drastically shortening the project onsite construction cycle.
(2)One-Stop Automated Testing:
Automated one-time wiring test for DC Winding Resistance & TTR. During the temperature rise test period, the system executes automatic temperature measurement, automatic data storage, and automatic calculation; no manual intervention by testing personnel is required throughout the entire testing period, which greatly reduces the workload intensity of testing personnel and significantly improves testing efficiency.
(3)Customized Test Report Generation:
The system can flexibly store test specimen parameters to avoid the risks of manual secondary data entry; it supports the automatic generation of bilingual reports in English and Chinese under three distinct modes: "test completion," "set intervals," and "individual test nodes." Features include automatic pop-up alerts upon report generation and automated file archiving, while simultaneously supporting customized secondary software development for test reports.
5. Commissioning Information
- Commissioning Date: June 2026
- Operation Status: The containerized transformer test system has completed on-site installation and commissioning at the Houston factory. It is officially put into routine production quality inspection for GIGA ENERGY's pad-mounted transformer production line, with all technical indicators complying with design specifications.
